Darwin's Revolution

v1.0.3 / TOC (8 chapters) / 01 feb 23 / greg goebel

* In 1859, the British naturalist Charles Darwin published ON THE ORIGIN OF THE SPECIES, which proposed that the different species of life-forms on the Earth all descended through a tree of branching paths from common ancestors, with the process controlled by "natural selection" -- the weeding-out of modified life-forms that prove "unfit" to survive, with those that are "fit" continuing to propagate. ON THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES would prove to be one of the most significant books published in the 19th century, providing the basis of an ongoing revolution in scientific thought. This document discusses the life and work of Charles Darwin, and the repercussions to the present day.
